Talk by Dr. Nikhil Jain

Dr. Nikhil Jain, Associate Director at Sai Life Sciences, Hyderabad, delivered an engaging talk titled “Probing novel mechanisms and using next-gen technologies for precision targeting of age-associated diseases” as part of the SCAN–BSBE Joint Lecture Series at IIT Bombay.

Dr. Jain is a translational scientist with over a decade of experience spanning academia and industry. He has previously worked at renowned institutions including the University of Birmingham, ETH Zurich, National University of Singapore, Cornell University, and Tel-Aviv University. His research has been featured in leading journals such as Nature Communications, PNAS, and Nature Materials.

In his lecture, Dr. Jain discussed the mechanobiology of inflammation in aging, emphasizing the role of nuclear envelope proteins in regulating macrophage activation and inflammatory signaling. He also presented his team’s pioneering work on PROTAC-mediated targeting of phosphorylated Tau in Alzheimer’s disease using patient-derived brain organoids. The talk highlighted how next-generation technologies and precision approaches are revolutionizing therapeutic strategies for age-associated diseases.
