SCAN Annual Symposium 2024: Recent Trends in Neurodegeneration

9th and 10th January 2024 | IIT Bombay

Event Details

We were thrilled to organize the “SCAN Annual Symposium on Recent Trends in Neurodegeneration” as our centre marked its first anniversary since its inception.

Neurodegenerative diseases affect millions of people worldwide, particularly in old age individuals. They are a group of disorders characterized by the progressive degeneration and loss of function of neurons in the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and, seldom, the peripheral nervous system.

This symposium opened its doors to an eager audience keen on delving into the latest research, findings, and innovations. The chosen theme, “Recent Trends in Neurodegeneration,” aptly reflected the primary goal of this gathering – The aim was to explore the ever-evolving landscape of neurodegenerative diseases, the challenges they pose, and the breakthroughs that have the potential to reshape the way we approach these conditions.

The symposium featured interactive sessions, short talks and poster presentations providing a platform for young attendees to engage with experts, to know about the future of cutting-edge research in neurodegeneration. The purpose of the symposium was to bring together researchers, clinicians, and experts from various disciplines to share their knowledge, present cutting-edge research findings, and foster collaborations in the field of neurodegeneration. The event revolved around the various themes like basic research, biomarkers, AI/ML, policy studies, assistive devices and diagnostics.
