SCAN Annual Symposium 2025: Dementia and Neurodegeneration
9th January 2025 | IIT Bombay
Event Details
The Sunita Sanghi Centre of Aging and Neurodegenerative Diseases (SCAN) marked its second anniversary on January 9, 2025, with a symposium themed “Dementia and Neurodegeneration.” The event focused on addressing the challenges and recent advancements in the field of neurodegenerative disorders from the perspectives of basic scientists, caregivers, clinicians, epidemiologists, and policymakers. The goal was to foster collaboration aimed at improving patient outcomes.
The symposium featured a series of sessions covering a broad spectrum of topics, including clinical diagnostics, palliative care, fundamental neuroscience, biomarkers, and neuropsychology. These sessions were led by distinguished experts in the field of neurodegenerative diseases. The event also served as a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present, discuss, and explore the latest innovations, emerging trends, challenges, and practical solutions in the field.
This one-day event brought together prominent faculty members, industry leaders, and students to explore the challenges and emerging technologies in neurodegenerative diseases.
The symposium delved into key topics related to neurons and aging, including dementia, policies for India’s aging population, and advances in molecular neurology. These discussions provided valuable insights into the intersection of technology and healthcare, highlighting the importance of collaboration in driving innovation within the field of neurodegenerative diseases.
The event underscored SCAN’s commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue and advancing research on neurodegenerative disorders. By engaging with faculty members and emerging innovators, SCAN continues to work toward its vision of understanding disease mechanisms and developing innovative diagnostic and assistive technologies to combat neurological disorders.
